  13.    Thanks for the help. Problem, in this case, was:
  14.       1) Squirrel-chewed phone-lines;
  15.       2) Lack of filtering on modems.
  16.  
  17.    The Phone Co. is fixing the first, and in-line filters have made
  18. connection possible, though erratic ( until lines are fixed ).
